Here’s another in my supply of Albany vignettes about non-news, or even old non-news. If you want to read about strife, unrest and chaos, look somewhere else.
In case you had not noticed, the turkeys are back. Probably not the same ones that caused consternation in Albany in 2019 but another batch, the next generation, just as hungry as the last one and looking for something to eat.
For weeks now, residents in West Albany have been reporting on their frequent sightings of a flock of wild turkeys. This encounter Thursday suggests that motorists will want to keep an eye out for them as well.
Seeing wild turkeys is no longer all that unusual in Oregon cities, but it’s still a reason to come out of the house and watch, or to stop the car and take a picture.

You have not seen an update on this particular flock of west Albany’s wild turkeys here since August of 2020. So it’s about time, right?
