Following up on the new signal installations on two Albany highways, here’s a revelation: Yes, ODOT did put in new cameras, but they look not for vehicles but for people on foot.

Friday’s short video tour of bike lanes along Highways 20 and 99E (Albany’s Santiam Highway and Pacific Boulevard) caused a least a couple of viewers to worry about the sewer grates as they flashed by.

There’s not much to say about this Albany highway sign, except that, well, this does look like the wrong way to attach a sign.

Stuck in traffic: Get used to it

Stuck once again in slow-moving traffic on Albany’s main drag, I’m wondering if this is ever going to get any better. The answer is no, it won’t. Not in the foreseeable future anyway. Instead, we’re bound to get delayed more often just like drivers in far bigger towns.
