The Urgent Care walk-in clinic of Samaritan Health Services in North Albany has reopened after storm damage was repaired, I learned on Wednesday afternoon.
“As of today, the clinic is now fully open and back to serving an average of 1,200 patients every month,” Leslie Fager told me. She works in communications for Samaritan Health Services in Linn County.
In an email, she told me that a thick ice buildup followed by heavy rains last week caused water to get behind the flashing of the building and leak into the ceiling.
At first, she said, Samaritan had to close its wound clinic in the building, but it was back in full operation as of Friday, Jan. 19. The walk-in Urgent Care clinic remained closed while damage to the walls and floor was repaired.
It was still closed Tuesday afternoon when I paid the place a visit. But now it’s open again.
I’ve called the building, at 400 Hickory St. N.W., the Samaritan medical center. Samaritan calls it the “Samaritan Medical & Diagnostics Building in North Albany.”
Regardless of what you call it, it’s good to know the storm damage has been fixed, and it took less than a week. (hh)
The North Albany center is such a vital part of the community – so glad they are up and running! What a mess! Kudos to Good Sam for taking such good care of us!
