Air made hazardous to breathe because of wildfire smoke means nothing to the creeps who want to steal your identity and your cash. The attempts at telephone scams just keep coming, and the question is why the phone companies don’t make them stop.

In case you didn’t notice, unlikely as that is, Albany’s air quality Thursday was considered “hazardous.” The needle on the air quality index on AirNow.gov was all the way to the right, well into the maroon category that indicates particulate readings of 300 or more.


Council: Help our neighbors who fled fires

Albany City Council members Wednesday urged townspeople to donate supplies to the evacuation shelter at the Linn County Fair & Expo, set up for residents who fled the wildfires in east county and may have lost their homes.


What sunrise? Darkness in the morning
