A perspective from Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley

A little plinking …

Written December 20th, 2013 by Hasso Hering

On a December afternoon, when the weather is not that great for biking and nothing much else seems to be going on, how about a quick drive to the Saddle Butte range near Shedd? The range is the headquarters of the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club. To get there, you go east on Boston Mill Road from 99E. If you’re not a member, call the club and become one so you can get in. Most days, the place is  busy with matches, classes and other activities. (Several law enforcement agencies train there.) But when nothing is scheduled, the ARPC website notes it’s a “good day for plinking.” Hard to resist a hint like that. (hh)
