Most of the reconstruction of Southwest Queen Avenue in Albany was completed before Labor Day, but questions keep popping up.
After being closed to through traffic since June 20, all of Albany’s Queen Avenue between the west city limit and Pacific Boulevard is once again open for traffic — and on brand-new pavement.
Queen Avenue in Albany has been closed to through traffic for weeks while the street is being rebuilt. Businesses are open but feel the effects in reduced activity and sales.
What more can be said about potholes on Albany streets, or more generally about why the city says it can’t repair those streets that seem to be mostly a collection of potholes and asphalt patches. We’re about to find out.
Reopening Queen: There’s been a delay
The 400 block of southwest Queen Avenue in Albany was supposed to have been reopened to traffic by now, but there has been an appparent snag.
