The Supreme Court’s Grants Pass decision upheld the right of cities to prohibit camping on public property. But don’t expect the ruling to make a difference in what you see on Albany streets.

Council gets ordinance to allow camp sites

In order to discourage homeless camps all over town and comply with a new state law, the Albany Police Department is asking the city council to authorize designated camping sites on public and church property.

For eight years people ambling along the Crox Creek Path in Albany have been able to read about the history of the area and the creekside land restoration project there. Until now.
