As pieces of Albany’s Waterfront Project are slowly coming together, it’s tempting to get a closer look even though they aren’t officially finished or complete.

When you’re away for a week and then come back, you’re likely to notice progress even when day-to-day changes are small and easy to miss. I got back Monday and noticed at least a couple of things about the Albany Waterfront Project.

Having been away for a week, I took the bike back to the Albany Waterfront Project on Friday. As I had expected, my usual point of access to the Dave Clark Riverfront Path had been torn up.

Albany City Manager Peter Troedsson told readers of his Friday report to the city council that Water Avenue at Thurston Street was once again open to traffic. On Saturday’s bike ride along the riverfront, I stopped to take a look.
