The former U.S. Bank branch in downtown Albany has found a new use, as you can easily tell by the big signs on the corner of the building. Capital Pawn opened there this week.
Some day there may be a building there, but for now the former site of Wells Fargo Bank’s downtown Albany branch is serving the need for more parking slots.
Albany is still waiting to hear whether it will receive a federal grant to pay for installing four more public electric-vehicle charging stations at key points in town.

In all the dialogue about Albany’s coming red-light and speed cameras, nobody mentioned House Bill 2095, passed by the Oregon legislature last spring. The new law, requested by the League of Oregon Cities, took effect Jan. 1 and expands the allowed use of photo radar.
