Speed cameras: Looking at law change

In all  the dialogue about Albany’s coming red-light and speed cameras, nobody mentioned House Bill 2095, passed by the Oregon legislature last spring. The new law, requested by the League of Oregon Cities, took effect Jan. 1 and expands the allowed use of photo radar.


Population update: Fodder for a story

The people at Portland State University came out with their annual population estimates the other day.  If the report conceals startling news about Albany and other mid-valley towns, I don’t see it. But the new numbers provide fodder for a story nevertheless.
