A perspective from Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley

First Avenue in lights

Written November 30th, 2013 by Hasso Hering

100_1640Last week you and I took a look at the new tree lights on Albany’s First Avenue downtown, but it was still light in the afternoon and the full effect was not quite visible. Here’s another look Saturday night. The lights on some 60 street trees, put up by the Albany Downtown Association with funding from proceeds of the city hotel tax, are to stay on through March. But now might be the best time to wander along there in the early evening, do some window shopping, check the stores that are open and maybe get something to eat. (hh)
