Bryant Park early Monday afternoon: As usual when the rivers rise, this dip in the park road was under water.
The Willamette River at Albany was expected to crest at just under 20 feet in the early hours Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, well below the flood stage of 25 feet.
It wasn’t raining Monday when the bike and I cruised Bowman and Bryant parks on the Albany riverfront. Here’s a video report:
Bryant was closed, as I said, even though only the lowest section of the park’s perimeter road was under water. Bowman was open, though the floating dock was inaccessible.
All that is what you would expect this time of year when it rains for a while. So it’s not news, exactly, but I figure it’s something worth noting nevertheless. (hh)

The gate to Bryant Park was closed Monday in anticipation of flooding from more heavy rain.
