Up in the December sky, men at work

Written December 9th, 2021 by Hasso Hering

Part of an antenna has just been removed from the tower and is being lowered to the ground.

When there’s work that has to be done at the top of a cell phone tower, someone has to go up there and do it.

That much is obvious, but I had never much thought about it until Wednesday morning, when I glanced up and saw what you see in the photo above.

It was about 11:30 and I had just come out of the Goin’ Postal store off Hickory Street in North Albany. That’s when I saw two men working away at the top of the mast across the way, on the far side of North Albany Self Storage.

Watching for a few minutes I realized what they were doing. They were disconnecting and taking off antennas from that part of the monopole tower.

From the ground, those antennas don’t look all that big. But obviously some of them are bigger than a man. And evidently they aren’t exactly light either. Their weight and the height make it necessary to use a mammoth-size crane to get them safely to the ground.

Below the tower, another man was dismantling the antennas as they came down. When I spoke  to him across the fence, from parking lot of the Samaritan medical center there, he told me they were replacing antennas, not just removing them. If I understood him correctly, they were doing this for AT&T.

The crew up on the mast was working deliberately and methodically, just as you would expect of skilled technicians working high up in the air. (hh)

Cutting apart the old antennas on the ground.

This is the view that first caught my eye on Wednesday.

This story, although interesting, needs to be edited so neutral language is used.

Please delete “men” and “man” and insert “they”, “person(s)”, “individual”, or “people.”

Those who control the language control the culture. And those in control of today’s culture assert that a person’s appearance does not reveal their biological category or gender construct.

Hence, only unbiased, neutral language is acceptable.

    Resistance is futile.

    Here comes 5G !!!

Time for the conspiritualists (good search word), anti-vaxxers, Qanoners, and anti-5G crowd to come out and ,,,!

Sorry, Gordon’s post made it irresistible. Of course I have no knowledge of what they are installing. My mind is made up, don’t bother me with the facts!
