What I learned from a food card visit

Sandwiched between Pacific Boulevard and Seventh Avenue in Albany, there is a lot that is partially paved but usually vacant. On a recent Sunday I saw a food cart there, so I stopped the bike for a closer look.

As just about everyone on Facebook knows by now, the famous Novak’s Hungarian restaurant in downtown Albany has closed.

Chick-fil-A proposed near freeway

Plans to build a Chick-fil-A restaurant near the Santiam Highway/Interstate 5 interchange in Albany have been perking along since last summer. One complication is that a zone change is needed so the restaurant’s employees have a place to park.

Yes, Sybaris owners are buying OER station

Now it’s official: Janel and Matt Bennett, owners of Sybaris, are buying the historic Oregon Electric Railway station in downtown Albany and plan to move their world-class restaurant there.

Locally, state eases corona shutdown

Linn and Benton are among the counties where some shutdown restrictions can be eased starting Friday, Governor Brown announced this morning. In Albany there was other news on the corona front as well.
