City wants to vacate two riverside streets

The Albany city staff will start proceedings to vacate two sections of city streets ending at the Willamette River, including one where the city has just spent a fortune on rebuilding an intersection and railroad crossing.

On Queen, smoother ride is two years away

If you mention railroads in Albany, the reaction you get most likely is a complaint about the grade crossing on Queen Avenue. So here’s another update on how much longer you and your vehicle can expect to endure the bumpy ride across those tracks.
