Couldn’t find any place to lean my bike on flooded Bryant Way Tuesday afternoon.
The heavy rains of the last few days had the usual results in Albany. Bryant Park was closed, and so was a section of Bryant Way near the city limits.
During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the Willamette River rose to just above 20 feet on the Albany gauge before slowly going down again. The Calapooia was churning along as well.
On a short bike ride Tuesday afternoon, I stopped near the two low spots of Bryant Drive not far from the city limits that usually get flooded when the rivers rise enough.
While I was there, two drivers went past the “road closed” signs but then had to stop at the gates, which were shut, and go back the way they had come.
Linn County also closed sections of four other roads because of high water. Benton County closed two. (For details and updates, check the closure pages on the counties’ websites, here for Benton and here for Linn.
Daily rainfall recorded at the Hyslop weather station between Albany and Corvallis totaled nearly 4 inches since March 10. The biggest daily reading was 1.15 inch on Sunday morning.
The rivers will be going down soon, but it usually takes a week or two for Bryant Park to dry out enough to reopen the gates. (hh)

And as usual when the two rivers rise, Bryant Park was closed Tuesday because it was full of water.
I am so glad that I have subscribed to your email and have gotten all this news that we never hear about. Thanks Hasso and keep up the good work.
AMEN
