For eight years people ambling along the Crox Creek Path in Albany have been able to read about the history of the area and the creekside land restoration project there. Until now.
My Wednesday bike ride took me along the path, and when I saw the sign I stopped and got out the phone:
I wrote about that informational sign when it was new, in December 2014. You can read about it here.
Ranting about the numbskulls who deface public or private property doesn’t do any good, I know.
So why do it then? Just to let off steam, I guess.
But seriously, what is it that makes human beings enjoy the act of ruining things for others, for people they don’t know and who have done them no harm?
If we knew that and could do something about it, especially early on in a person’s life, imagine how much less there would be to complain about. All our problems would be solved. (hh)
Someone needs an old fashioned ass whooping.
Ever since Eve beguiled Adam with that succulent apple, mankind has been on a destructive bender. The Hindu belief system, while not overtly celebrating senseless havoc, concludes that ruination is simply the flip side to the creative. While few praise the vandal, rapine behavior seems inevitable – baked into the species for reasons no one wants to admit.
You are a great writer.
You are not alone in your opinions.
I am continually dismayed by the senseless and the pointless damage done to public and personal properties.
I agree! I get so mad at people that destroy things that aren’t there’s!!
Why do they do this? Just for fun?? Believe me it’s not fun for the people who would like to read about it.
Looks like a Gang tag tagging their territory.
