From the photo you might be able to see why this is one of my favorite places to ride a bike near Albany, especially when the weather is nice.
The place is Bryant Drive, and the time was about 3:40 on Saturday afternoon. I tried to shoot a little one-handed video, and this was how it went:
There’s nothing more to it than what you see, a jaunt on a properly built and well maintained county road outside of Albany on a sunny November day. (It was on the 25th, not Nov. 24 as the bike rider in the video claims.)
No particular point suggests itself here. Except maybe this: If you want a respite from news that is dominated by cruelty, stupidity and strife, jump on your bike and take a ride. (hh)
Missed seeing you by a day as a friend and I road our velomobiles down Bryant Dr. heading South and later riding down the bike path to Corvallis. And then tried out the temporary bridge. Bryant Dr. is one of my main favorite routes when heading South. These last two days have just been awesome days for riding!
I call it Bryant’s Loop; I think Bryant’s Drive is the same thing. I love taking my bike on Bryant’s Drive, and I enjoy doing it in the fall, I go in the afternoon, warmest part of day, I use to walk it, riding a bike is much nicer. My son use to run it in cross country at West Albany high school, he is 30 now. He sometimes takes his bike with me at Brants Drive, we both enjoy it. Sometimes we go to Bryant Park and loop around the park itself several times, love the fall colors. My parents use to be advocate bike riders when they were alive, they lived in Portland, they took their bikes several places including Ireland and Europe.
Great video one handed amazing, Hasso! When you shoot the videos I always wave at you, here in my warm house drinking tea.
I too am a 2 wheeler enthusiast! Love your videos Mr. Hering!
