Since the last time I checked, contractors on Albany’s ambitious Waterfront Project had made progress on rebuilding the west end of Water Avenue with reddish brick pavers.

Ideal for this weather: New splash pad

The July heat wave came at just the right time. This has been the first week that Albany’s new children’s splash pad was open in the renovated Monteith Riverpark.

At Monteith Riverpark, looking around

The gate in the fence was open and no heavy machinery was moving around on Friday at Monteith Riverpark, giving me an opportunity to walk in and look around the construction site.
