HASSO HERING

A perspective from Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley

We interrupt this bike ride to say …

Written December 24th, 2025 by Hasso Hering

This pier overlooking the Willamette seems like a good platform for a few words on Christmas Eve.

Here you find me on one of the Willamette River piers in Albany, where I stopped for a few remarks on my afternoon bike ride on Christmas Eve:

As I said, Merry Christmas! And thanks for hanging out with me on this website from time to time.

I expect to return with the regular mix of content once we’ve all managed to get through the Christmas festivities in one piece. (hh)

    Merry Christmas Hasso!

Thank you for keeping us informed….I really do appreciate what you do.

You definitely do a much better job with local information than any newspaper
    in the area.

    Again, Thank You

      Joanne,
I agree with you about how Hasso is such a great source of information and local news. However I would like to put in a plug for the Brownsville Times which is published weekly. While in a local business a few weeks ago I picked up a copy to read and enjoyed it so much I immediately went on line and subscribed. It’s like small town newspapers I remember as a kid. All local news and very well written. Check it out if you get a chance.

Since the DH has decided to regurgitate news that you can find anywhere on TV, and on the web, etc. I have come to rely on the HH local news. Thank you so much for providing this relevant information. Happy New Year!
