There’s a lot near the Albany riverfront that has been the subject of stories here before. For years it was occupied by an old garage and warehouse, which was demolished in 2023.

Riverfront beat: Townhouses to replace garage

For many years there has been a warehouse or garage at the southeast corner of Hill Street and Water Avenue in Albany. Now a contractor plans to tear it down and replace it with buildings where people will live.

Water and Hill: What’s going on

On the Albany riverfront, the intersection of Water Avenue and Hill Street has been torn up for weeks. It’s being rebuilt to make it look like the corner of Water and Jackson Street five blocks to the west, and you may wonder what’s behind this and why.

How to impede traffic flow

On Water Avenue, nearly half the street’s width has disappeared so that crossing gates can be installed at this gateway to the Edgewater Village development. Albany drivers may wonder if this is wise.
