Nearly four years ago, the city council decided to seek grants to build a small public restroom outside Albany Station. Now city officials are proposing to give up on the project as too expensive.

When I passed Albany Station on my bike ride Saturday, I remembered the talk some time ago about building a public restroom outside the city’s depot building. Whatever happened to that idea?

A fence hole where a bridge was proposed
For a long time now, there’s been a gaping hole in the fence on the path from Albany Station to Swanson Park. That might have been foreseen when plans for the station remodeling were discussed 23 years ago.
