If there was a monthly contest among Albany traffic cameras for the most citations issued, it would be a close race. But North Albany Road would have won last month.
It was in December 2023 that the Albany City Council voted to equip four intersections with cameras to catch speeders and red-light runners. The cameras may soon be installed, and then we’ll see if they yield the anticipated result.

How come drivers still getting caught?
Every time I have driven past the traffic cameras on North Albany Road in the last few months, and I do this twice a day, it has been impossible to get a ticket. Yet more than 300 drivers get speeding tickets there every month. How come?
