It was five years ago that Albany installed an art arrangement of sculptures near a busy highway. If no one talks about it much, or at all, it’s because the thing is kind of hard to see.


To fix the lights on those steel flowers

Changing colored lights are a significant nighttime feature of the four steel sculptures in the grassy area near the Pacific Boulevard off-ramp to Lyon Street in downtown Albany. But lately they’ve not come on.


To really see this, you must get close

As you can see, Albany’s new art installation is the result of work that is both heavy-duty industrial and extremely intricate. But to appreciate it, you have to get close.
