Now that speed cameras have begun watching drivers in an Albany school zone, a question that came up four years ago needs to be asked again: “What exactly qualifies as a school day?”
On streets running past most schools, the signs say the 20 mph speed limit applies during certain hours on “school days.” But what exactly is a “school day”?

Drivers on North Albany Road paid more than $49,000 for speeding tickets they got during May, the last full month of school days since traffic cameras at Thornton Lake Drive went live.
