About 7,000 customers of Pacific Power were affected by a power failure in Albany today, the utility reported on its outage website. And “wildlife” was listed as the cause.

Power failure results in sewage spill

Bowman Park on the Willamette River in Albany was closed today because of an overflow of untreated sewage caused by a power failure that shut down the city’s treatment plant and related pump stations.

When a power failure hit the Albany area on Monday afternoon and knocked out all the traffic signals, motorists did what they usually do when this happens: Without being told, they took turns.
