Couple win dismissal of NA speeding tickets

Albany’s photo radar program in the school zone on North Albany Road hit a bump Wednesday when two speeding tickets were dismissed because the city could not prove that the cameras were working properly.

Considering these “temporary rules” I read Sunday on the fence of the pickleball courts at Albany’s Eleanor Hackleman Park, it’s hard to see how anybody could play the game, let alone enjoy it.

A new judge and, unrelated, an old debate

Wednesday’s Albany City Council meeting, the last one of the year, featured someone new and something old. One was the next city judge. The other was a rerun of last year’s disagreement between the mayor and council majority over the size of accessory dwelling units.
