Getting streets maintained and pavement repaired is always an issue in Albany, but not any more on two streets in a leafy neighborhood at the southwest edge of town.

Bids opened for Riverside Drive

The Linn County Road Department this morning opened bids for widening about 2.4 miles of Riverside Drive from Oakville Road to Meadow Road, a long-planned project that will make the road safer for both motorists and bicyclists.

No, that’s not a new road down to the Calapooia River that the Linn County Road Department is building here. It’s a project to build up a well-compacted area where Pacific Power can set new poles.
