The Albany City Council Wednesday unanimously denied a conditional use permit that would have allowed an outpatient substance-abuse treatment center to operate out of the historic Sternberg House at 506 Ferry St. SW.

Building 2: The deal on its demolition

The federal government will go ahead and demolish an old and dilapidated building at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), but it is considering steps to preserve two other buildings on the Albany campus.

A new old look for a downtown address

If the owners follow through on their plans, the building believed to be the oldest wood-framed commercial structure still standing in downtown Albany will get a new look. An old look, that is.
