Good news for users of Albany’s riverside Dave Clark Path: Closed for construction since last summer, the central segment of the walking and biking trail is likely to reopen in a couple of months.


Grateful for a bench when fixing a flat

It’s nice to find a bench nearby when the rear tire of your bike suddenly goes flat and you have to change the tube. So I’m grateful to the family of the late Robert Stanley Hart for having caused this one to be set up along the Dave Clark Path.


Nice thought, but safety comes first

This improvised addition showed up at the east end of Albany’s riverside Dave Clark Path. Today it featured a notice zip-tied to the bench that made me stop to take a look.


Riverside path blocked for sewer project

Now it has started — the big Albany sewer project intended to prevent overflows to the Willamette River during heavy rains. The construction will, among other things, distrupt the middle section of the Dave Clark Riverside Path, where an underground lift station or pump will be installed.
