Why didn’t I see shopping carts or other trash in Periwinke Creek on Sunday? Because a great bunch of volunteers hauled tons of refuse out of the creek the day before.

Before and after on this Albany path
There’s a path along a neglected section of Albany’s Eighth Avenue canal between Lyon Street and Swanson Park. On a bike ride last week, I came across a big mess along the creek. On Tuesday I was surprised to see the mess was completely gone.
