Downtown housing proves hard to build

One of these days, but not right away, this lot on Albany’s Third Avenue S.E. may or may not hold eight townhouse-style apartments. That’s what I got out of a long discussion Wednesday by the advisory board of the Central Albany Revitalization Area.


New shelter space taking shape

Construction is still very much in progress, but George Matland is confident that the new Signs of Victory mission in Albany will be finished in time for homeless people to find shelter there by the end of June.
