Construction continues at The Banks, the new apartment complex on the Willamette River in Albany. But most of it is finished, and on Friday they held a grand opening.
What happened to the plan to build 44 apartments and 11 single-family houses at the corner of Airport Road and Franklin Avenue, a plan approved by the Albany Planning Commission in August 2020?
The bike occasionally takes me past the 1100 block on Sixth Avenue across from Hackleman Park in central Albany. Last week I noticed how the area has been spruced up with the completion of this building’s conversion to an apartment house.
The planned conversion to electric vehicles in the next generation will require a lot of places to charge car batteries. So I was interested to see a newly installed charger at The Banks, the 120-unit apartment complex nearing completion at 595 Geary St. N.E.
Six apartments planned on East First
A three-story building holding six apartments is in store for a vacant property on East First Avenue in Albany if the owner carries through with plans submitted to the city planning division.
