Goldfish Farm closure: Three more weeks
Looking at the unfinished Cox Creek bridge on Goldfish Farm Road on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025.
Goldfish Farm Road in East Albany has been closed to through traffic since early April so a contractor could replace the bridge across Cox Creek. In little more than three weeks, the road should be open again.
On bike ride this week, I found the construction pretty well advanced. The replacement bridge had been built but looked like it still needed a deck and concrete railings.
I approached the bridge from the north, and the road was a mess of gravel. Half a dozen men were working to finish installing a new fire hydrant.
How long will the construction go on?
“The contract completion date for the Goldfish Farm Road Bridge project is September 22,” County Engineer Daineal Malone reminded me in an email.
Cascade Civil Corp., of Redmond, has the $2.4 million contract to replace the bridge. The Oregon Department of Transportation is funding the project.
If everything goes according to plan, the detours around the bridge on Goldfish Farm Road should be over in less than a month. (hh)
