Albany’s marijuana marathon goes on

Like it or not, marijuana regulation will remain on Albany’s agenda for public discussion for another year thanks to a 4-3 vote the city council took Monday night. Mayor Sharon Konopa broke a 3-3 council tie and voted in favor of banning recreational marijuana facilities including retail shops in the city.


Film nudity at City Hall? Sorry, no!

Albany accepts Linn offer for station, armory

That was quick! The Albany City Council Wednesday voted unanimously to accept an offer by Linn County to buy the city’s police station on Jackson Street as well as the city-owned property where the Oregon National Guard has its armory.

What do you know! After nearly three years of study, the Oregon Passenger Rail project has concluded that the best route between Eugene and Portland is the existing rail line between Eugene and Portland. But is this final? Hah, you dreamer! No, it’s preliminary. More study to follow.
