Well, if there ever are problems with access to the highway from Albany’s new police headquarters, they can always try this as Plan B. Not really, but the issue caught the satirical eye of Darrell Pepper, the retired chief of police who dabbles as a cartoonist.


That poor postal kiosk, again

As far as computer-operated machines are concerned, the mail kiosk at the Albany Post Office seems to be overwhelmed or on the blink more often than one would expect in this digital age. I’ve had occasion to point this out before, but the glitches seem to recur or persist.


What to call Albany streets

If you want a change of pace and something far less momentous than Jihadi terror to worry about, how about calling Albany streets by their correct names? Spring Hill Road comes to mind. It’s three words, as the road sign on the Albany-Corvallis Highway makes plain.
