Here’s a chance for would-be rescuers of dilapidated but historic Albany houses. This place, at 732 Fourth Ave. S.W., is about to come up for sale. The Federal National Mortgage Association, which owns it, is looking for a buyer with an interest or background in restoring historic buildings.

Neighbors air concerns over N.A. bikeway
About two dozen property owners showed up Tuesday for a neighborhood meeting about the North Albany segment of the planned Albany-Corvallis Bikeway. Some of them voiced questions and concerns, but the main news for me was that the project was still on and the Albany segment is scheduled to be built in 2020.
