On rural Scenic Drive, there’s a new limit

If you’ve driven (or ridden a bike) on Scenic Drive in North Albany lately, you’ve seen the new 45 mph speed signs. They’ve been up a couple of weeks.

Millersburg intermodal center: Working on it

Since the Mid-Willamette Valley Intermodal Center in Millersburg opened with great fanfare last December, people have been wondering why it isn’t operating and when it will start doing so.

It was early in August when I took this photo. It’s on the south side of the new configuration of Highway 20 at Independence Highway, an ODOT safety project that had just been completed.

Wondering about Queen crossing upgrade

It was raining Tuesday when the bike and I came up to the railroad crossing on Queen Avenue. The crossing arms were down and rail cars loaded with lumber blocked the street.

Albany prepares to back farmworker housing

On Bryant Way, they’re harvesting nuts

The hazelnut harvest has been in full swing in the Albany area. At least it seemed that way Friday in one of the big orchards on Bryant Way.
