A Christmas Eve ride: Beating bad weather

Written December 24th, 2021 by Hasso Hering

One stop on our Christmas Eve bike ride: The Third Avenue Bridge.

The forecast of winter weather starting on Dec. 25 made me take my little holiday bike ride on the afternoon of Christmas Eve instead. You’re welcome to come along.

Let’s hope the dire weather forecast turns out to be wrong. In my newspaper days, our experience was that when we printed a headline about snow and freezing temperatures coming our way, the next days would turn out to be sunny and mild.

It didn’t always work. But in my memory, it worked often enough. So it’s worth a shot. (hh)

Great route. I miss those wide shoulders and low traffic roads. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Hasso from San Antonio. I’m visiting our daughter and family for the holidays. The three young grandsons have finished opening presents. Christmas is so much more fun with children. 63 and overcast here. The weather forecast looks COLD there. Stay safe.
