A perspective from Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley

Wishes he had a couple of oars

Back on the bank at Bowman Park...

Back on the bank at Bowman Park…

From the riverfont beat: This episode in a man’s boating life had a happy ending. But it should remind everyone that if you rely on your motor as the only way of propulsion, you may end up here: up a creek without a paddle.

Once again my apologies for this rough video, shot while I was on a bike ride and stopped off at Albany’s Bowman Park on the Willamette River Wednesday afternoon.

If I had a workable way of editing this stuff, I would do it. Also, while giving advice on boating, advice to self: If you zoom in on something, be sure to remember to zoom out again. (hh)

Been there, done that! About 30 years ago I & a friend started up river & got as far as the Lyon St bridge. Motor conks out. It took us almost 2 hrs to float back down to Bowman Prk. Yep..no paddles!! There were two in it the next time I took the boat out…..JE
