Love’s Travel Stop in Millersburg has been open for a week, and I finally made my way there to take a look.
The place wasn’t busy at mid-day on Wednesday, and I had plenty of time to wander around the grounds and building and inspect the store and restaurant inside.
Just west of Interstate 5 on Old Salem Road, Love’s is open around the clock. Interstate truckers have discovered it, obviously, as attested by the number of big rigs at the pumps and in the parking bays. But I expect Millersburg residents will find it handy as well, considering that it includes the town’s first franchise fast-food place.
As Kealey Dorian in Love’s media relations told me last month, and as I confirmed by cruising the aisles, the location offers all kinds of convenience store items such as snacks, travel merchandise and portable electronics, even some clothing. For professional truck drivers there’s also a laundry, showers and a tire shop. along with 72 truck parking spaces.
The company said the Millersburg site will employ about 70. That’s an opportunity for locals too. At the gas pumps, the man who filled my car’s tank said he lives five minutes away. (hh)
Impressive. With hindsight being 20/20, I should have been a long haul trucker. I love to drive and travel and can park my ass behind the steering wheel for hours.
But the best burgers in Millersburg are still in the basement of the Morningstar Grange when they have events.
I just wish they had put in a real honest to god truck stop diner instead of an Arby’s.
Yes! With bacon and eggs and lunch and dinner specials and all the goodies! Just ate at Gordy’s Truck Stop over in LaPine two weeks ago. It was great!

Anyone know if there is an RV dump station?
I don’t think the Love’s has an RV dump, but McKay’s, right around the corner, has a dump station. I believe the cost is $8.
Yes they have am RV dump station. I was told it’s $10.
I thought it would be nice to have the truck stop there for fuel, but they are almost 50 cents more a gallon for diesel than what I can get it in Albany. Definitely worth my time going the extra distance. Very disappointed.
Remember that most albany diesel is B20 bio-diesel and does not have the taxes on it. Loves may not be B20. Some say B20 gets worse mpg and can clog fuel filters. Although I have been using it mostly for the last few years with no issues so far.
