Planned and talked about for more than 20 years, the proposed Albany-Corvallis bikeway is still in the works, but don’t expect its completion any time soon or, depending on your age, before you die.

Albany city planners are reviewing not just one but two proposed site plans for commercial buildings in North Albany. They’ve just notified neighboring property owners of both.

A day after the Albany City Council narrowly confirmed its longstanding commitment to an off-highway bikeway from Spring Hill to Scenic Drive, I got on my bike and took another look at how things are now.

A wave of development on Hickory Street

Vacant land on both sides of Hickory Street in North Albany may not stay vacant for long, judging by applications pending at City Hall, although the timing of the respective developments is unclear.
