What can I say? Leaving Albany briefly behind, I took to the wilds of Upper Klamath Lake with my son Dave. And I can report that the canoe trail there provides an experience that is hard to beat.
Paddling permit bill still alive?

I didn’t think the canoe permit bill would get very far in the 2017 Oregon legislature, but Rep. Knute Buehler has just launched a petition against it on Facebook, so maybe this attempt at regulatory overreach is still alive.

Takena Landing to get new dock
To the casual observer the wooden floating dock at Albany’s Takena Landing doesn’t look as though it’s in bad shape. But it’s going to be replaced next spring, and the new one will have a fiberglass deck.
