This time, the ospreys got there first

A year ago, a couple of ospreys were displaced from their nest on the Albany railroad bridge by a pair of Canada geese. This year the osprey evidently got there first.

Most days, riding the bike around Albany, I see something at least mildly interesting or noteworthy along the way. On other days, not so much.

Apparently lost, goose hangs at City Hall

Monday was the first day in two weeks you didn’t need an appointment to do business at Albany City Hall. I doubt that’s the reason a Canada goose decided to stake out the entrance, but there it was.

High above river, a nest fight looms

Mr. and Mrs. Osprey are not going to happy if they now return to their nest atop the steel railroad bridge across the Willamette River at Albany. Somebody else has taken up residence in their customary abode.
