Sunday video: Cavorting canines

Written July 27th, 2014 by Hasso Hering

Albany’s new dog park wasn’t exactly overrun Sunday morning, but the dogs that were there seemed to enjoy themselves. Maybe they don’t usually get to run around in company with other dogs, so this might have neen something of a novelty for them.

The three-part fenced area for off-leash dogs on the north side of Timber Linn Park opened to public use Friday. Other than in their owners’ yards, this is the only place within the city limits of Albany where dogs are allowed to run free.

When the dog park was in development and the city council amended the municipal code to allow it, there was vague talk about possibly setting up an off-leash area in part of North Albany County Park as well, but there’s been no further word on that. (hh)

I didn’t go this past weekend due to the heat, but look forward to it as soon as the weather cools down!
