What’s next at NA County Park

North Albany County Park is not usually a busy place. No crowds jostle for space. Which makes it a welcome oasis among the subdivisions spreading out on all sides. Now Benton County is seeking public “input” on what the park could or should be in years to come.


Maybe this will calm you down

Regardless of what this is, whether mustard or turnip seed or something else, it’s always a welcome sight when I’m riding my bike on the back roads of the mid-valley in the spring.


Local gas tax comes up again

It’s early yet, and no one knows how far this idea is going to go, but there’s been talk of Albany voters being asked what they think of a local gas tax to pay for repairing city streets. The subject came up most recently at the city council meeting Wednesday night.


More signs to slow Spring Hill

More signs. That’s what Benton County will install to try to get traffic to slow down on Spring Hill Drive in the Albany city limits. Other steps to slow traffic might be more effective but would cost too much to install or maintain, the county concluded.


Council eyes potential pot limits

Don’t count on being able to buy recreational marijuana at many places in Albany if it becomes legal in the city at all. Maps prepared for the city council suggest there may be few if any locations where sales would be allowed.
