Downtown parking near the Albany Carousel and the post office continues to take up the city council’s time. The council Monday reached no conclusions but agreed to again seek possible solutions at a work session in two weeks.

The tax on this house is WHAT?

This house overlooking Bowman Park and the Willamette River was last in the news in 2016 after the city of Albany accepted title of the property, which had been used as a squatters’ hangout. Now it also illustrates that our property tax system is out of whack.

I’d like to know what Albany’s streetscape designers were thinking when they decided to put chokepoints on the the main downtown thoroughfare, already hard-pressed to handle traffic during busy parts of the day.
