There’s no evidence that a man found dead by the side of Bryant Drive outside of Albany died as a result of homicide, according to Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley.
Visitors at North Albany County Park may start seeing changes in the next few years based on a new master plan. Developed over the last couple of years with lots of outreach to and input from the people in surrounding neighborhoods, the plan goes to the Benton County Board of Commissioners for approval in December.
The Albany City Council has yet to decide what if anything to do with a block of vacant land it caused the BNSF railroad to hand over in 2013. But for now a previous benefit of the parcel — overflow parking at the popular Calapooia Brewing Co. restaurant across Water Avenue — has been lost.
N.A. market: City gets site plan
“Can you do a status update on the North Albany store please?” reader Robin Nygren asked a couple of days ago. Yes, I can, because a site plan for part of the project has been filed for the city’s review.
